Cycle and Run at the Ring
The discovery arena
The Nürburgring unites many facets which all make it unique. The Nordschleife has made history in the 80 years of its existence and the highly modern Grand Prix course ranks amongst the most renowned in the world.
However, it is not only Formula 1 pilots or motorised Nordschleifen fans who are attracted by the Eifel course, meanwhile it is also a highly attractive venue for cyclists and runners. Between 1927 and now, the course has already hosted 3 bicycle world championships. It is not only the top athletes who are fascinated, but especially the leisure athletes: “The topography is murder, the landscape is incredible.” This is how one participant in the 24 h bike race describes his experience, completely overwhelmed but also very exhausted – he had raced as an individual rider after all.
However you do not need to be that extreme in order to experience the joys of the Nürburgring. The offers of “Rad&Run am Ring” consciously makes the transition between extreme, leisure and family sports. The runners have known this for a long time. The Nürburgring run has already taken place 27 times. The 24.4 km race leads through the “green hell” while the 5 and 10 km runs take place in the Formula 1 arena. “Rad&Run am Ring” offers a personal challenge and a unique experience for all. And that is what makes the Nürburgring so attractive for everyone. You should experience or step on the “most beautiful bit of tarmac between the North and the South Pole” yourself…
